Games to Implement in an ENL Setting to Promote Language Acquisition

Games and fun activities are a great way to create bonds with students, build relationships, and liven up lessons that can be mundane. Games can be used as a warm up, a mid-lesson break, or a review at the end of a class period. Throughout this course you will understand the importance of games during lessons, beneficial games for ENL learners, and how they can be used to teach both social and academic language functions. Some games you will learn about teach areas such as grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, speaking skills, listening comprehension, and more.

This course is applicable to all educators, administrators, and any related service providers of all subjects, grades K-12.

45 hours / 3 credits in-service and graduate credits.
