Film Studies: A Guide to Making the Most of Media Materials

$220.00$240.00

The assumption that a film being shown in class equates to a free period or a distinct lack of academic focus or is devoid of learning is simply false.  The truth is that there is so much the film industry has to offer the world of education.  With more and more streaming services available and improved classroom technology, incorporating films and/or film clips has never been easier.  Moreover, because some students are visual learners, there is a clear benefit to having a visual complement material being covered in class.  Teachers enrolled in this course will review the necessary checks to ensure that films are appropriately and effectively selected.  Together, we will explore the best ways to incorporate these films into lessons that are engaging and purposeful.

Applicable to middle and high school teachers of any subject area.
