Wilson Reading Program: How Does it Work?

$220.00$240.00

The Wilson Reading System is a reading program based on research and Orton Gillingham principles. The program was created by Barbara Wilson. It is a step by step program that focuses on specific language concepts. Some of the concepts Wilson teaches are phonics, spelling, comprehension, and more. A multi sensory approach is taken to help students reach mastery of the skills. By the end of completing the WRS students should have the skills to fluently decode and encode when reading. It is directed for students who are struggling readers in grades four through twelve. There are many resources and supplemental materials  available to educators about the Wilson Reading System. Tests such as the WIST and the WADE are used to assess student functioning. This class will cover topics such as what the program is, Wilson and dyslexia, using technology and the WRS and much more.  This class is intended for all educators

This course is applicable to all educators, guidance counselors/social workers/psychologists, administrators, and any related service providers of all subjects, grades K-12.
