Take Home Science Labs
$220.00 – $240.00
“Don’t try this at home,” is a statement that needs to be made from time to time. But, sometimes, there are experiences than can, and maybe even should, be tried at home. The science we teach in school is happening around us all the time, even in the homes of our students. In what ways can we engage our students, even when they are not right in front of us, with doing hands on science at home? Are there simple, and safe experiments that students, even with limited means, can try at home? Applicable to teachers of any subject/grade level. Teachers in this course will explore ways to encourage students to look around them to find the science outside of the lab. We will develop experiments and demonstrations that can be done at home and assignments to best engage students in the scientific process. This course is applicable to all educators or administrators, grades K-12.
45 hours / 3 credits inservice and graduate credits.
