Scaffolding Learning in ENL Classrooms

$220.00$240.00

As educators we are accustomed to meeting the needs of learners at inconsistent levels. Similarly in ENL populations we must meet the needs of our learners and modify our language to parallel the abilities of our students. This modification is referred to as scaffolding and allows students to build on prior knowledge while being guided towards new understandings. This limits academic frustrations and promotes positive engagement with curriculum. This course will demonstrate the importance of scaffolding, different types of scaffolds, how to procedurally scaffold material, and how to use this to allow students to take ownership of material.

This course is applicable to all educators, administrators, and any related service providers of all subjects, grades K-12.

45 hours / 3 credits in-service and graduate credits.
