Next Generation Science Standards
$220.00 – $240.00
The new standards for science education have been developed to create a paradigm shift in how students learn and engage with science. With a heavy focus on cross-cutting science concepts, the integration of technology and engineering practices and the real benefit of giving students hands-on experiences with core disciplinary concepts, the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) will reshape what students think of science. The goal is to better prepare students for college, careers, and citizenship by giving educators more opportunities to inspire student interest. This course will investigate exactly what is covered by the NGSS and how it aims to shape the delivery of science education. Teachers in this course will have an opportunity to develop teaching tools to engage their students in ways highlighted by the NGSS. Applicable to teachers of any subject/grade level.
